“Are We Ready?” training 3rd December, Stirling

Thursday 3rd December 2015 10am – 4pm

‘Are We Ready?’ -Training Workshop at Keep Scotland Beautiful, Glendevon House, Castle Business Park, Stirling, FK9 4TZ

with Pamela Candea and Philip Revell

Everyone loves to talk about the weather. How can you use this to engage .a wide range of people in thinking and planning how to make your community more resilient? Not only to plan for future extreme weather events and other emergencies but also to get them together to think how to build long-term community resilience as we adapt to life without fossil fuels.
So, how resilient is your community? What would make it more resilient? Where can you best focus your efforts to achieve your aims? Book your place online here.

You will experience and learn how to use a community engagement resource and toolkit being developed by Scottish Communities Climate Action Network in conjunction with Adaptation Scotland. It will include the opportunity to learn from the experience of an Argyll community, which successfully piloted the original ‘Are You Ready?’ project run by Adaptation Scotland and Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2013 and used it to engage their community in planning projects and preparing funding applications. The workshop will also draw on ideas from the ‘Exploring Community Resilience’ project run by Nick Wilding for Carnegie UK Trust to discuss how best to cope with forthcoming challenges and create the conditions from which a positive future can emerge.

This workshop is being run by Scottish Communities Climate Action Network in conjunction with Adaptation Scotland and is available free of charge to staff, members and volunteers connected to community organisations that are taking action on climate change.
