For SCCAN, this means that we will have a small but reliable source of core-funding to match any other funding we secure, such as from Scottish Government. This new funding will make it much easier to plan longer-term and to put in place the support and networking opportunities our members want.
A key aim of the project is to widen the range of communities, groups and individuals participating in local initiatives that are working for transformational change in the face of the climate emergency. It will include the setting up of a new networking platform and other support to enable and nurture connections across our network and beyond, and the emergence of new groups and projects.
We will be working closely with the transition movement in England and Wales as the project develops and will post regular updates over the coming months.
