Seeds of Change in the Lost Woods

From Little Acorns Grow (FLAG) is a community group formed by educators, writers, artists, designers, musicians and environmental activists. Our goal is to support and facilitate young people to actively engage and participate in shaping their environment.  FLAG believe that the creative arts and storytellers have a fundamental role to play in economic, social and environmental change.

Our project The Lost Woods aims to encourage all primary school children to grow a tree from seed, nurture it’s growth and plant these precious seedlings in derelict sites around Glasgow. We want to create beautiful green spaces for all to enjoy – The Lost Woods – and create a wonderful legacy to the COP 26 Climate Summit in November.

FLAG believes that The Lost Woods project has the power to inspire people to action. We believe that the project is vital and that the benefits to the children involved and the resulting environmental improvements are endless. We also believe in the power of community action and are linking up with a number of agencies to deliver not only an educational programme for The Lost Woods project but to hold an arts and music festival during the COP. We also believe Glasgow can be a beacon of hope for the world in November 2020.
