Thanks, Paul & new Story Weavers

We have bittersweet news: our Story Weaver Paul Bristow has just left this role to be fully dedicated to his other creative projects. We wish Paul the absolute best and want to thank him for his brilliant work. We hope you have enjoyed Paul’s contribution to 1000 Better Stories podcast and his storytelling workshops.

The work of SCCAN’s Story Circle will continue to develop with support from two new Story Weavers – Kaska Hempel and Joana Avi-Lorie. They will help develop a new Storytellers Collective to expand the storytelling beyond 1000 Better Stories podcast to other mediums, run training and involve more contributors.

Based in Tayport, North East Fife, Kaska has worked in climate communication and digital community storytelling for 5 years, with PLANT group, Tayport Community Trust and with Transition University of St Andrews. She supports community bloggers and produces PLANT Voices podcast and has helped deliver podcasting training with SCCAN’s Future Voices project.

Joana has been collaborating with SCCAN since June 2020 as Event Coordinator. She is a research student at The University of Edinburgh, exploring how eco-themed fictional stories can help mitigate eco-anxiety. She is a writer and a visual artist working on several projects that present climate awareness.
