What if? Re-imagining community climate action in the age of a pandemic

These times are demonstrating that drastic change can happen quickly in our society. Amidst the turmoil and unpredictability, how can community climate action groups ensure that we “bounce forward” to a more positive, socially just, environmentally sustainable and resilient future, rather than “bounce back” to how things were before? This question is at the heart of the Bounce Forward project, launched by Transition Network. It has already run some very inspirational online events on the theme of What is?, with recordings available at https://transition-bounceforward.org/what-is/

A couple of key events are coming up:

What if? Visioning launch Nov 11th 7-9pm

A new visioning process has been developed to support community climate action groups to take stock in these strange times, and identify leverage points in their local area to create meaningful change. It is based on Rob Hopkins’ most recent book ‘From What is to What If: Unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want’ and will be launched on Nov 11th.

For more information and to sign up to the launch, visit https://transition-bounceforward.org/ (sign up link to be published next week).

What Next Summit (20th-28th February 2021).

What Next is an online summit being developed with CTRLshift that will bring together the visioning and planning of community climate action groups in the UK. It is a space to explore how we can advocate for wider and ambitious societal changes towards a just recovery, and make our visions our reality. More information to follow.
